Frequently asked questions

FAQ

Are you plastic-free and eco-friendly?

Absolutely. All of our products are plastic-free, BPA-free, zero waste, sustainably sourced and either: recyclable or biodegradable at their end of life. These are key criteria in any of the products we create. All of our bamboo lids, covers and toothbrushes are 100% biodegradable, meaning they go back into the earth that created them. Our aluminium jars and glass jars are 100% recyclable and can be recycled forever while staying strong and durable.

What products can I store in Bamboo Traveller Glass and Aluminium ranges?

Our products have been rigorously tested for use with gels, creams, pastes and powders that you would regularly find in a toiletry kit. As a precaution against spills, we recommend that you do not store extremely runny liquids in Bamboo Traveller jars, such as essential oils.

Where is all of this made?

Our mailer boxes are made by an awesome Aussie company using recycled cardboard and shipped plastic-free so that our packaging materials can be recycled or composted at home.

After careful consideration, we’ve proudly set up our product manufacturing operations in China and choose to ship with the lowest possible carbon footprint. We work closely with our trusted partner to ensure fair wages, working conditions and responsible practices. Plus, we found that our Chinese partner offered a lot of great benefits, including:

>  We can use bamboo, glass and aluminium rather than plastic! We couldn’t find an Australian supplier that could offer this.

>  We have access to a large pool of local, raw materials including bamboo (which is not readily available in Australia in the quantities we need).

>  We can create our products for a reasonable price, so more people can make the switch from plastic to bamboo.

What is BPA?

BPA stands for bisphenol A, an industrial chemical that has been used to make certain plastics since the 1950s.

BPA is found in many plastics that are used in containers that store food, beverages, and other consumer goods.

Research has shown that BPA can go into food, beverages and other materials that are stored in containers that are made with BPA. Exposure to BPA is a concern because of the possible health impacts, especially on infants and children.

How do I dispose of my Bamboo Traveller products once I’m done with them?

All of our bamboo toothbrushes, lids, and covers are biodegradable. Put them in your home compost, community compost or local council green bin for collection. Want to know more about compost? Find out here. All of our aluminium jars and glass jars are 100% recyclable. So pop them in your recycling bin and pat yourself on the back – you just did a good thing for the planet!
